Product Description:
Povidone-Iodine (PVP-I) is a loose complex formed by combining elemental iodine and polymer carrier, and povidone acts as a carrier and solubilization. It is commonly used as a disinfectant by surgeons to prevent infections and as an antibacterial by dentists. On contact with tissues, the carrier complex slowly releases free iodine. Gradual release decreases tissue irritation and reduces potential toxicity while preserving the agent’s germicidal activity. PVP-I is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

Main Market Application:  
Povidone iodine is always used external (never ingested) disinfectant.
